Euro NymphsHare Bomb
The Hare Bomb is a heavily-weighted euro nymph designed to get down fast in swift water. Built with premium hare's mask dubbing throughout, the pattern features picked-out guard hairs that create a buggy, lifelike silhouette. The large tungsten bead and slotted jig hook ensure quick descent to feeding zones where trout hold.

Overview
Developed by Fly Fish Food for euro nymphing applications where maximum weight and quick sink rate are essential. The hare's mask dubbing provides superior bugginess compared to standard hare's ear dubbing, with longer guard hairs that pulse in the current. Pick out the collar thoroughly after tying to maximize movement. Can be tied in multiple colors by substituting different dubbing shades while maintaining the natural hare's mask collar for texture.

Fishing Tips
Season
Effective year-round, particularly productive during spring mayfly emergences (March-May) and fall feeding periods (September-November). Works well in cold water conditions when trout hold deep in winter months.
Presentation
Dead drift along the bottom using euro nymphing techniques with tight line contact. The heavy 4.0mm tungsten bead gets the fly down quickly in fast pocket water and deep runs. Maintain contact throughout the drift to detect subtle takes. Short line nymphing works exceptionally well in broken water.
When to Use
Best when trout are feeding deep and holding tight to structure. Excellent choice during high water conditions when heavier flies are needed to reach the zone. Works as a searching pattern when no specific hatch is occurring. Use when nymphs are dislodged and tumbling along the bottom.
Water Type
Designed for moving water environments including riffles, runs, pocket water, and deep pools in freestone streams. Particularly effective in swift currents where lighter nymphs struggle to reach depth. Performs well in rocky substrate where mayfly and caddis nymphs are abundant.
Rigging Suggestions
Fish on 9-12 foot leader with 4X-5X fluorocarbon tippet for optimal turnover and presentation. Typically used as the point fly in a euro nymphing rig with lighter pattern as dropper 12-18 inches above. Can also be fished as a single fly for simplified presentation. The slotted tungsten bead rides hook-point up, reducing snags on rocky bottoms.
Visibility & Floatation
Sinks very fast due to large 4.0mm tungsten bead, reaching depths of 4-6 feet rapidly. The natural tan coloring blends with stream bottom while the gold bead and ribbing provide subtle attraction without spooking fish. Slim profile cuts through current efficiently with minimal drag. Picked-out dubbing creates lifelike movement that triggers strikes.
