Fishing Tips
Season
Most effective during spring, summer, and fall hatches. Fish this pattern when conditions match the natural prey it imitates.
Presentation
Cast upstream and allow to dead drift through likely holding water. Add occasional subtle twitches to simulate natural movement.
When to Use
Best during hatch activity or when fish are actively feeding on the surface. Also effective as a searching pattern during quiet periods.
Water Type
Works well in riffles, runs, and pools of freestone streams. Also productive in tailwaters and spring creeks.
Rigging Suggestions
Fish on 9-12 foot leader with 4X-5X tippet. Can be used as the lead fly in a dry-dropper rig.
Visibility & Floatation
Floats well with proper floatant application. The natural materials provide good visibility without spooking wary fish.
