Presentation
Vary your retrieve to imitate the behavior of the baitfish being targeted. This can include short quick strips to imitate a fleeing baitfish or longer slower strips to imitate a cruising baitfish.
When to Use
This pattern is particularly effective when fish are keying on small baitfish. This can often be in the spring when baitfish populations are high.
Water Type
This pattern can be used in both moving and still water. It can be particularly effective in clear water where its lifelike appearance can be fully appreciated by the fish.
Rigging Suggestions
This pattern can be fished on a floating line with a long leader or on a sink tip line depending on the depth of the water being fished.
Visibility & Floatation
This pattern sinks and is intended to be fished subsurface. The use of 3D molded eyes and Solarez Bone Dry UV resin on the head add to the fly's visibility underwater.
