Tying Instruction : 1.) Tie in thread at hook eye. 2.) Tie on yellow floss at hook eye. 3.) Wrap thread back to hook bend and then back to hook eye, close wraps. 4.) Wrap floss forward to hook eye. 5.) Tie in small ball of hares ear dubbing behind hook eye. 6.) Tie in a partridge feather by the tip. Wrap sparse partridge hackle, 1-2 turns. 7.) Whip finish head. Note : Wet fly hooks are sometimes called spider hooks (the English name). Wet fly hooks are 3X short which means the hook shank is about the same length as the hook gap. This means a size #14 fly would have the same body length as a size #18 fly tied on a nymph hook (approx.). |
