Tying Instruction : 1) Tie on thread near eye and lay down a thread base the entire hook length. 2) Tie in the tail ivory poly bear under the shank and a piece of gray poly bear on top of the shank keep both very sparse and make the gray slightly longer than the ivory. 3) Tie in gills red poly bear under the shank very sparse and short. 4) Tie in upper and lower wings at the same time, working down the shank keeping poly bear sparse and each piece shorter than the one before it, ending the lower wing with white. 5) Tie in throat, topping and cheeks in this order keeping poly bear sparse and a little longer than the hook. 6) Build a neat head and whip finish. 7) Remove from vise, brush out and trim to shape. 8) Place back in vice, use Goop to glue on eyes and epoxy head. Note : This pattern can be tied with many different materials, colors, and hooks (I like short shank hooks the best) for both salt and fresh water. |
