Tying Instruction : 1) Place bead on hook. 2) Tie thread in just behind bead. 3) Tie sewing thread in on side of hook close to you. 4) Tie crystal flash in on backside of hook. 5) Wind smooth underbody with tying thread back to hook eye. 7) Tie a single overhand note with crystal flash and sewing thread at hook bend. 8) Follow the woven fly instruction, step #1 - step #10 and use a knit fixer to weave a body. 9) Tie on working thread. Dub a small thorax behind the bead and whip finish. Note : It is best to try some of the larger woven patterns before attempting this size #20. I have found that the smaller sizes are actually easier to tie, simply because there is less to them. The one thing that is crucial is good lighting, use a desk lamp whenever tying small flies. |
