Tying Instruction : 1) Tie in thread at mid shank. 2) Tie on tail, 3 hackle fibers. 3) Wrap thin body with tying thread. 4) Tie on foam wings. 5) Dub thorax around foam wings and tie a neat head. Note : Take a very close look at the fly on this page. It's very well proportioned and very small. I mounted it to the eye of a sewing needle. The red wax that is holding the fly in place is the size of the head of a pin. When you tie flies this small, and this well, a picture of the fly can be deceiving, it can look several sizes larger. When tying flies this small proportion is the thing that matters. Neil is not only an expert tier he also has a good eye for proportion. |
